Category C

Driving license for: Trucks with a mass of 3,500 kg and up to 8 seats except the driver seat. The combination is allowed, with a towing mass of up to 750 kg. Prerequisite for the candidate is to be an owner of category B at least. The minimum age for obtaining it is the 21st year or 18th year together with the simultaneous issuance of PEI. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal.

MOUNTED TRUCKS AND ROAD TRAINS

Driving license for: Combinations of C trucks with a trailer or semi-trailer with a mass exceeding 750 kg. The applicant must own a valid category C driving license. The minimum age for obtaining it is the 21st year or 18th year together with the simultaneous issuance of PEI. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal. Minimum Mandatory Courses: 10 practical. The duration of each training hour is set at 45 minutes.

Category D: Buses

Driving license for: Buses over 8 seats except the drivers. The combination is allowed, with a towed mass of up to 750 kg. Prerequisite for the candidate to be an owner of at least B category. The minimum age for obtaining it is the 24th year or 21st year together with the simultaneous issuance of PEI. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal. Minimum Mandatory Courses: 15 theoretical and 15 practical. The duration of each training hour is set at 45 minutes.

Category DE: Modular buses

Driving license for: Modular buses or a combination of a bus with a trailer with a mass over 750 kg. The applicant is required to own a valid category D driving license. The minimum age for obtaining it is the 24th year or 21st year together with the simultaneous issuance of PEI. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal. Minimum Mandatory Courses: 10 practical. The duration of each training hour is set at 45 minutes.

Certificate of Professional Ability to transport Goods

Drivers who have obtained a category C driving license until 09/09/2009, obtain a P.E.I. freight transport by attending seminars lasting 35 hours in a PEI school. Drivers who have obtained a category C driving license from 10/09/2009 onwards obtain a P.E.I. freight transport with theoretical and practical examinations. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal.

Certificate of Professional Ability to carry Passengers

Drivers who have obtained a category D driving license until 09/09/2008, obtain a P.E.I. passenger transport by attending seminars lasting 35 hours in a PEI school. Drivers who have obtained a category D driving license from 10/09/2008 onwards obtain a P.E.I. passenger transport with theoretical and practical examinations. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue or the date of renewal.
