Digital intelligent tachograph cards
According to European Union regulation, vehicles with a gross freight weight exceeding 3.5 tonnes and passenger vehicles with a capacity of more than 9 seats, for which a registration certificate issued for the first time after 1 May 2006 has been issued, must be equipped with a digital tachograph device or after June 15, 2019 with a smart tachograph device, ie a tachograph connected to a tracking service based on a satellite navigation system (GPS).
The intelligent tachograph, like the digital tachograph, requires the use of a card ("intelligent tachograph card") by drivers, companies, control authorities and garages for its proper operation.

The digital tachograph card is mandatory for all truck and bus drivers over 3.5 t who have registered after May 1, 2006. To issue a driver card, the applicant is required to hold a valid C or D category driving license. A digital tachograph card is also issued to the respective companies and authorized tachograph repair shops. Valid for 5 years from the date of issue.
